About the Council

The City Charter provides that the duties of the City Council include policy-making, adoption of ordinances and resolutions necessary for the governance, proper administration and adequate financing of the City, and oversight of all municipal activities under the purview of the City Manager.

Members

The Kingsburg City Council is comprised of five members serving staggered four year terms.

Mayor & Mayor Pro Tem

After each election, upon new members being sworn into office, the City Council elects from its members a Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. The Mayor presides at all meetings of the City Council and represents the City at all public functions as well as on a number of County-wide and regional commissions and committees. The Mayor Pro Tem performs the duties of the Mayor in the Mayor’s absence.
