[ARCHIVED] Construction on Draper Street - Update

Map of Construction

Downtown Transit Oriented Development Project - Updated on August 27, 2024

Work on Draper Street and Lewis Street in Downtown Kingsburg began earlier this week. Work will include the installation of bulb-out curb ramps on Lewis St. at the following intersections: Marion, Smith, Lincoln, and Washington Streets. This work will be done in two phases. The north side was done first, and will continue through Friday, August 30.

Work continues on Draper Street for the next two days - parking and access to Draper street will be limited or restricted depending on the working being completed. Work will begin at 5am and continue until 5pm on Wednesday and Thursday.

Draper Street will be closed intermittently on Wednesday, August 28 so the contractor can complete crack sealing and road preparation. Parking and vehicle access will be restricted.

On Thursday, August 29th, the road will be closed from approximately 5:00am - 6:00pm so the contractor can apply a type III slurry seal. Parking, vehicle, and some pedestrian crossing will be restricted.

For approximately two weeks thereafter, Draper Street may not have any pavement markings, but will be open for regular parking and business. Please be aware and use caution and reason when parking along Draper St.

Draper St. will begin receiving pavement markings the week of  September 9th. Striping and pavement marking  will continue until September 27.

We understand the inconvenience this project will cause,  and we understand the important role Draper Street plays in our community and downtown.  We strive to balance the interests of all residents, businesses  and visitors in the downtown area. This project is part of a broader strategy to bolster our infrastructure and continue to create a welcoming and vibrant environment that benefits everyone.
