Downtown Transit Oriented Development Project - Updated on August 15, 2024
Work on Draper and Lewis in Downtown Kingsburg is set to begin on Monday, August 19.
Work will include bulb out-curb ramps on Lewis St. at the following intersections:
Marion, Smith, Lincoln and Washington Streets. This work will be done in two phases.
The north side will be done first, work will begin Monday, August 19 and will continue through Friday, August 30. Work on the South side of Lewis St. will begin on Tuesday, September 3.
Draper St. Work
On Draper St., additional concrete work will also be completed near Los Pepes Restaurant and Kingsburg First Baptist Church on Monday, August 19, continuing through Friday, August 23.
On Monday, August 26, road work on Draper St. from Sierra St. to California St. will begin and will run through Thursday, August 29th. Residents, pedestrians, and business should be aware of traffic control and that parking may be limited or restricted.
On Thursday, August 29th, Draper St. from California St. to Sierra St. will be closed until approximately 5pm so the street can be slurry sealed from curb to curb. For approximately two weeks thereafter, Draper street may not have any pavement markings, but will be open for regular parking and business. Please be aware and use caution and reason when parking along Draper St.
Draper St. will begin receiving pavement markings the week of September 9th. Striping and pavement marking will continue until September 27.
We understand the inconvenience this project will cause, and we understand the important role Draper Street plays in our community and downtown. We strive to balance the interests of all residents, businesses and visitors in the downtown area. This project is part of a broader strategy to bolster our infrastructure and continue to create a welcoming and vibrant environment that benefits everyone.
