Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Ability to negotiate directly with the city on the purchase of the property prior to auction.  The property is being sold at auction to the highest bidder. The auction is being conducted by the Levy Officer from the County Sheriff’s office. The City has no authority to negotiate with any third party regarding the purchase and sale of the property.
  2. If any other liens are present on the property, and; if so, if those are extinguished assuming the city’s minimum bid is met, or if there is a financial responsibility to meet those as well. As of the date of the Litigation Guaranty, a copy of which is attached, there were no other liens recorded against title to the property.  If other encumbrances were recorded after the recordation of the Notice of Levy, they should be extinguished as a result of the sale by the Levy Officer. There may be delinquent real property taxes which a new purchaser will be required to pay.
  3. Can I access/assess the property? – We are not allowing access due to safety concerns. Contact Kingsburg Building Official, Edward Jakubowski at 559-897-5328 or ejakubowski@cityofkingsburg-ca.gov for more information.
