Measure E Progress!

During the June 5 Statewide primary election, Kingsburg hosted a local initiative, Measure E, proposing a 1% sales tax increase to be used only for public safety. Official election results have the measure passing with 71% approval. So far we have: hired two full-time Police Officers, City Council approved the resolution creating the Citizen Oversight Committee and the Measure E budget for FY 2018/2019 during their August 1, 2018 regular meeting.

More details:

  • The special tax will take effect October 1, 2018.
  • Revenues will be received beginning in November.

Council is seeking parties to serve on the citizen's oversight committee. If interested, please contact City Clerk, Abigail Palsgaard for an application. Appointments will be made after the November City Council election.
