The Kingsburg Fire Department also has a Firefighter Explorer program that is co-sponsored by the Scouts of America. Applications can be either picked up at Station 1 or emailed back to the explorer coordinator.

Requirements

Application requirements for Post 55 include:

• Minimum age 15 or a freshman in high school. Maximum age 20 years old.
• Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, which will be checked regularly.
• Must pass an oral interview.
• Must attend regular meetings, trainings, and events as outlined in the explorer policy manual.
• Must pass a practical exam before becoming "ride-along certified".
